About me
A graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education, I have worked in many aspects of the industry. I cut my teeth working in the Greenwich Village restaurant, Po for Mario Batali and then for Brendan Walsh at the Elms Restaurant and Tavern in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
From there I spent the next six years working for Martha Stewart as the Commissary Chef at her Westport, CT television studio. I led a small team that fed the staff, the crew, guests, VIP's and of course, Martha. Often I worked in her various homes where I cooked for dinner parties, weekend guests and business events.
During that time I was cast as a regular on the PBS cooking show, Everyday Food for five years. It was a fun and unusual experience, but it is hard to keep your stage makeup from running when you are cutting onions in front of the camera! The show was very successful and is syndicated nationally, in Canada and Japan.
I ventured into the restaurant business after that. The first being the SoNo Baking Company in South Norwalk, CT. After selling my partnership in the bakery, I opened my own restaurant, Margot Cafe and Wine Bar in Stamford, CT. An intimate, charming place with boutique wines, eclectic bistro fare and an extensive menu of freshly baked goods.
Before and after this time I worked as a private chef and caterer for some very upscale and prominent families in Fairfield County, CT and New York City.

Since moving from Connecticut to New York City in 2010, I have been in culinary education as an educator and administrator. Though I still love to teach (ask me about private classes!), my focus now is on the private sector and making my clients very happy.
